A single isolated incident, now at the centre centre of a court lawsuit, created chaos that otherwise threatened to overwhelm the city’s festivities. The celebration, meant to emphasize the city’s pride in its football club, momentarily descended into pandemonium.

To commemorate the team’s recent successes, Liverpool fans congregated in the streets early in the morning, brandishing flags, wearing red, and singing.
