Liverpool FC
Liverpool FC Women soon opened talks with Bayern Munich to complete the deal after seeing Kerr’s potential and the value she brings to the club. The two parties agreed on a comprehensive contract before the 2025–26 season, as negotiations concluded on friendly terms. Through a video release on its social media platforms, the club officially confirmed her as a permanent signing.
“Sam proved her quality in months and fully earned her spot,” said Liverpool coach Matt Beard. She is a championship mentality player who rises to pressure and knows the system. As we look towards greater heights, she is precisely the type of player we need.”

Kerr was genuinely delighted with her prospects at Liverpool.
“I have felt valued and embraced since walking through the doors of the AXA Melwood Training Centre. My decision to sign was easy due to the club’s ambitions, the camaraderie in the dressing room, and the passion of the fans. Being an official Liverpool player officially makes me proud.”
She explained that she was willing to offer fully immediately and that she had a lot of admiration for the club’s values and spirit of brotherhood.

Kerr built a firm career at Bayern Munich and for Scotland at the international level before coming to Anfield. She received exposure at the highest levels of European football while competing for Bayern in the Frauen-Bundesliga and UEFA Women’s Champions League. She was able to play as a centre or attacking midfielder and was able to change between forms with ease due to her tactical responsibility and flexibility.
Kerr has already earned over 30 caps for Scotland, representing her country in high-profile tournaments and qualification games. Her international experience adds a level of strength and leadership to Liverpool’s growing squad.
Strong Midfield
Missy Bo Kearns, Ceri Holland, and Marie Höbinger are some of the quality core group of Liverpool midfielders that Kerr is joining. Kerr’s permanent inclusion has provided Matt Beard with more depth and tactical options in the middle of the park. Her signing ensures Liverpool’s potential to rotate smoothly and play at a higher level in a range of competitions.
Aside from being a talented player, the coaching staff views her as a leader in the locker room. Kerr’s professionalism and competitive nature best complement Beard’s culture.
